Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a . The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS (Not limited to):
Work with PCEs and Shop Floor supervisors to update training processes
Maintain Training Matrix
Lead regular meetings with Trainers (Operator trainers and PCTs), Supervisors, and PCEs to receive input on new operators’ progress and concerns, review new operator defects, and to communicate this data to and from management
Create, Review, and update online training with specific process information and other process direction; review and assign course frequency
Setup IPC and J-STD training including assigning individuals to the course as needed and setting up classroom
Delivering IPC and Initial Hands-on training as needed; requires becoming certified
Checking in with new operators on training tags on the floor on a regular basis to ensure they are building to process and have everything they need
Providing new operators with reference documentation and immediate hands on training on the floor as needed including soldering
Ensuring the Initial Hands-on classroom is re-stocked as needed for each training session
Training Operational Improvements
May be part of interview assessment process of potential new hires
Communicate to supervisors regularly on aptitude of new operators to ensure performance concerns are dealt with immediately
Conduct with assemblers regular cell/program refresher or corrective action training based on defects or challenges identified.
Assist in implementation of assembly aides, workbook improvements, or new build guidance.
Assist QA with FAI efforts and assist with root cause/corrective action on any defects or observations identified
Assist PCE’s, PCT’s, and Engineer with PR’s, CR’s, and drawing changes
Assist with Audits and implementation of root cause/corrective action of defects found
In addtion may perform and/or contribute to the following tasks:
Coordinates and performs more complex cross functional tasks in support of the operations/manufacturing organization
May lead the development of more complex manufacturing and operations plans, schedules, and facilitates assigned projects
Defines specific parameters for tooling, fixturing or equipment required considering interface requirements
Maintains capital equipment and overhead budget requirements
Prepares complex departmental reports, purchases, requests, and training and development plans and other data as required
Reviews design work requiring independent evaluation, selection, application of standard engineering techniques and procedures
Works the application of standard engineering principles and methods to the solution of process/production problems
Works with Information Technology individuals to lead the introduction of computer integrated manufacturing tools to the manufacturing area
May represent manufacturing on preliminary and critical design reviews led by engineering
Coordinates designs with manufacturing engineering to ensure the practicality of the design and assists in the solution of production difficulties encountered in manufacturing
Directs work and offers technical direction and mentoring to lower level specialists and technicians
May review and approve specifications and drawings for technical accuracy and content as applicable
Implements new manufacturing systems including generating supporting operational documentation under the direction of an engineer
Assists engineering in the evaluation of new manufacturing systems
Interfaces with engineering departments, quality control, manufacturing, purchasing or other groups as required in order to complete project plans
Works independently in following general outlines of assignments
Requires only minimal supervision and very little technical assistance
Normally works under the guidance of an operations manager, senior engineer or project Leader
May interface with external customers including DCMA

Requires intense concentration to assure accurate completion of technical assignments
Requires multi-tasking abilities without losing focus to complete priority assignments
Supports concurrent engineering to approve complex design
Requires the ability to research technical problems and summarize technical information as it applies to the given task
Requires the ability to plan, schedule and execute work
Grasps and applies new information quickly; handles more complex assignments
Shows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects with little direction
Directs the efforts of technicians and associates as needed to complete special assignments
Mentors others on the team
Proficient mechanical or electrical aptitude
Proficient ability to operate software applications used in a manufacturing/test environment
Proficient ability to present technical information to peers using written and verbal approaches
Proficient computer skills
