AMS (Advanced Missile Systems) Business Office is seeking a Financial Analyst team member for a new sole source development program awarded for $350M. This mission space is fast growing and will give the ideal candidate opportunity to work a proposal in 2019 for another sole source development program. This position will allow the candidate to learn how to manage a development program using Earned Value Management. The position to be filled includes responsibility for partnering with IPTs (Integrated Product Team leaders) to manage control accounts using Earned Value (EV). The individual chosen for this position will baseline and implement EV, develop, present and defend quarterly Estimates at Complete (EAC); and forecast manpower. Also providing analysis of EV metrics and weekly/monthly costs incurred and provide guidance to Program and Business management. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with Cost Account Managers (CAMs), Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads, Program and Finance leadership.

Minimum Required Skills:

Minimum of 2 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related Master’s degree with 0 years of experience.
Current active DoD Secret Clearance is required
Familiarity with utilizing various forms of budgeting and forecasting techniques
Familiarity with Data and/or Financial Analysis and Reporting
Familiarity performing qualitative or comparative analysis with an emphasis on variance explanation.
Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
Ability to develop effective senior level presentations
Familiarity with qualitatively communicating variances to forecasts and financial results.
Familiarity with variance analysis, identifying and communicating discrepancies in data.
Ability to relate to technical people, complex hardware and processes.


Highly Desired Skills:

Familiarity with financial evaluations of engineering projects, and/or process improvements–strong understanding of what is driving variance within data sets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity in process efficiency and improvement
Familiarity working in a matrix environment
Familiarity with Earned Value Management
Defense Contracting Finance work experience
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing information and conditions
Independent thinker, self-motivated, and proactive
Familiarity with financial evaluations of engineering projects, and/or process improvements–strong understanding of what is driving variance within data sets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
