Description:Lockheed Martin (LM) is seeking an experienced EO/Laser Design Engineer for an Orlando Florida assignment. The EO/Laser Design Engineer will be responsible for leading the technical aspects of pursuing, capturing, and technical execution of new Laser Weapon System business opportunities.
This will require pursuing Government agency contracts, expanding LM internal initiatives, and furthering the execution and developmental guidance to IRADs.

Work products in this role will be:
- developing engineering estimates,
- proposal presentations and responses in various forms,
- conceptual support work,
- directional guidance to the technical team,
- support to executive education and internal funding requests,
- Develop Bill of Materials, Make/Buy evaluations, Architecture diagrams, and similar work.

The EO/Laser Engineer will work closely with Program Management and will utilize the collective support of a diverse technical team to achieve goals and work products. The candidate must be a strong communicator.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform the following Electro-Optical Engineering assignments:

Demonstrate knowledge or experience of EO systems consisting of advanced optical/infrared material and coatings.

Demonstrate experience of EO systems including high average power laser systems.

Demonstrate knowledge or experience in radiometric EO analysis and simulation.

Perform design and analysis of EO candidate systems for both ground and airborne sensor suite applications.

Perform design trade studies and system verification analyses to optimize candidate system performance, cost, size and weight.

Model design solutions that can be fabricated for laboratory test and characterization prior to development.

Perform design and specification of instrumentation for integrated system level tower and field testing.

Holds a Secret security clearance and considered a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:
Experience with laser development, operation, science, overall or partial Laser Weapon Systems, or multiple sensor suite experience

Experience with Code V, MATLAB and MODTRAN is desired.

Experience in estimate generation, concept development for proposals, lab integration leadership, and flight test experience.

Experience interacting productively with government laboratories in both technical and management roles is desired.
