Reporting to the Director, Behavioral Sciences, this person will be a key player in helping Conagra’s Demand Sciences team influence decisions with rigorous data and behavioral science that drive results. They will support initiatives driving a wide range of investigative demand science activities to define CAG brands’ growth opportunities with regard to brand renovation, expansion, new products, shopper/channels and marketing strategy. Digs deep to uncover compelling consumer demand spaces, pockets of growth, jobs to be done, winning attributes, and distinctive brand activation; ensures behavioral science and evidence based demand opportunities are leveraged in growth strategies, new products, and marketing/activation plans.
Establish himself/herself as a strategic business partner with Brand Directors and managers, R&D directors, and Marketing team.
Translates evidence based demand opportunities into top and bottom line business impact.
Drives an agile, evidence based, behavioral science approach to identifying and defining business opportunities for growth; develops learning plan, executes, analyzes, and communicates learning related to CAG brands’ present and future position in the marketplace.
Defines key strategic growth opportunities to be addressed in annual operating and strategic business plans, serving as consumer advocate and business partner.
Leads synthesis and communication of market, retailer and consumer trends; ensures relevant trends are acted upon in brand product and marketing strategies.
Identifies, develops and refines new/renovated products to support business growth.
Leads the sourcing, interpretation and application of marketplace and consumer learning to develop marketing strategy and refine activation for prioritized brands.
Drives application of a comprehensive range of consumer data and research methodologies and suppliers, and continuous improvement in techniques and cost.
Applies CAG principles of fully competitive, reinvent and expand to ensure growth is identified in all categories where we compete, recommending resource allocation, investments and the types of engagements with the brands in accordance with risk/opportunity.
5+ years of experience producing high quality, well-regarded data and consumer insights & analytics work, preferably in the consumer packaged goods industry.
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
Proven track record of delivering actionable business recommendations, influencing decisions, and impacting results
Strong priority management skills ensuring demand sciences resources are leveraged and applied to the most important business issues and opportunities.
A proven record of turning data and learning into actions with brands, retailers, marketing and R&D
Strong knowledge of multiple consumer data and learning tools and processes
Experience working with multiple third party suppliers ensuring they are aligned to key deliverables and they are driving impactful outcomes
Proven strong oral and written communication skills, especially the ability to explain difficult concepts and opportunities in simple, applicable business terms
