ManTech is seeking experienced and skilled professionals to assist CBP officers and border enforcement personnel in effectively and efficiently identifying cargo, individuals and conveyances that may present additional risk to the United States; conduct terrorism analysis and global assessments that convey changes in terrorism threats and identify emerging threats; develop and evaluate CBP-wide intelligence based targeting rules and intelligence driven special operations; and coordinate and enhance analysis and targeting efforts.



ManTech is seeking Top Talent as a Data Analyst to support our customer in Kingstowne, VA. The analyst will aid in the ongoing assessment of our systems. The results of the analyses will drive further developments and capabilities our name and entity matching software.



The Data Analyst will:


· Obtain, join, scrub, explore, model, and interpret large datasets


· Transform and manipulate large dataset according to the specific analysis requirements.


· Analyze and consolidate information from disparate data sources to find patterns and/or linkages using a variety of analytical tools.


· Create and present clear oral and written reports on the findings


· Become an expert on name and entity matching and pattern analysis.



MUST BE A US CITIZEN AND ABLE TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN A CBP/BI CLEARANCE. POTENTIAL TO BE SPONSORED FOR A TOP SECRET CLEARANCE.



Required Qualifications:


· BS Degree in a related technical fields (Computer Science, Math, Statistics, etc.)


· At least two years of experience performing data analyses and interpreting results


· At least two years of experience using Java, R, or python, Matlab, SQL for data analysis


· Conceptual understanding of – and/or prior experiences related to – data profiling, fuzzy matching, entity resolution, and signal detection theory (specifically with respect to SD theory: designing and improving upon systems that monitor, minimize, and balance false positive and false negative outcomes).


· Experience working with SQL, data-mining or statistical software.



Preferred Experience and Skills:


· Java programing experience is a plus


· Experience with SAS Enterprise Minder, SPSS Modeler, or equivalent


· Experience working in field of entity resolution, analytics, data mining or name matching.


· Experience working with Customs or ICE travel-related data.


· Unix / Linux experience.



Location: Dependent on Customer direction in either Herndon, VA, Sterling, VA or Alexandria, VA
