This is a true Generalist role but with a significant focus on recruitment. This role would suit an HR professional with a reasonable degree experience but still seeking to expand their knowledge and gain wider experience. Knowledge of recruitment compliance & best practise, along with past experience of sourcing through Social Media & undertaking competency interviews will be essential. A reasonable level of past involvement of advising management dealing with Employee Relations issues (from grievance to disciplinary) will also be required. Knowledge of Redundancy and TUPE would be desirable but not essential.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

An individual with sound

Recruiting, HR Administration and

Employee Relations experience

/ with a good knowledge of UK Employment Law, personnel policies and procedures. A formal qualification in Human Resources Management (CIPD Level 3 or 5) or equivalent experience would be favourable.

e incumbent must be robust and be able to work in a fast moving and demanding environment with a significant focus on Recruitment

This position would suit applicants who have had previous experience in a large commercial business with structured HR processes and policies. The incumbent

will ideally have had previous experience in the role of Human Resources Generalist / Recruiter or a very similar position and be able to demonstrate their complete understanding of the position.

The incumbent will be required to obtain security clearance in order to be employed.

Experience of sourcing candidates through Social Media, direct hires using Applicant Tracking Systems and liaison with Agencies

Experience of competency based interviewing

Experience of on-boarding and induction

·

Exceptional planning, time management & organisational skills.

Attention to detail (particularly compliance in respect of GDPR & Right to Work)

The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

Experience of resolving Employee Relations (from Grievance to Disciplinary & Appeal)

Knowledge of Redundancy legislative requirements would be advantageous

Knowledge of TUPE would be advantageous

Knowledge of “Job Families” would be beneficial

Good communication skills and an ability to deal with employees on every level throughout the business unit, network & influence.

Core Responsibilities and Duties

Recruiter

Recruitment of a range of roles from Consultants to Tradesmen to Graduates

Strong capability in using social media (LinkedIn etc) to source applicants

Experience of behavioural and competency based interviewing

Using the Applicant Tracking System to place vacancy requisitions, review and source candidates

Liaise with Managers regarding their resourcing requirements and provide guidance and support in recruitment activities

Ability to draft job descriptions

Liaising with Agents for the provision of appropriate resources and review CV’s forwarded

Interviewing candidates with Managers, using behavioural and competency based interview techniques

Co-ordinating Induction and on-boarding orientation for Government Services

Employee Relations

Provide guidance to UK based Line Management regarding the interpretation and application of Human Resources policies and procedures whilst keeping abreast of current employment law issues

Assist Management in managing or counselling personnel with performance, personal issues or discipline problems of site based personnel

Provide advice to Management and oversee disciplinary actions, including investigation of allegations of misconduct, developing letters of allegation, disciplinary hearings, appeals and grievances, and drafting and safekeeping of related letters and documents

Support Line Managers in conducting peer reviews of staff at risk and oversee any redundancy process

Initiate amendments to salary and staffing positions, ensuring that appropriate approvals are received from budget holders

Process resignations and terminations and ensure all relevant procedures are followed.

Actively manage maternity and paternity cases within GS

Manage sick leave business process (particularly long term sick leave) by ensuring the receipt of doctors’ notes, liaising with the employees’ doctor or specialist and referral to the company doctor to determine fitness to return to work or terminate employment on medical grounds
