The General Accounting Department of Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson works closely with Product Line Business Managers and Financial Planners and Analysts, and is responsible for Missile Systems financial reporting to Corporate. This position provides visibility to the overall performance of the Business, how financial activity rolls up and flows through the financial statements, and how our actions impact Missile Systems’ financial performance. It also provides an excellent opportunity for networking and building contacts within Finance and other Missile Systems organizations, other Raytheon Business Units, and Corporate. Our Department is involved in various high visibility teams across Raytheon that drive policies, establish financial guidelines, and set the direction of our financial organization for the future.

Job Description:
General Accounting has an immediate opening for the position of General Ledger Manager. The General Ledger team consists of 8 employees responsible for:

  • Preparation of MS Financial Statements
  • Monthly accounting close
  • RA Table Maintenance
  • Consolidations
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual reports for Corporate, Tax, and PWC
  • Element of Cost Reporting for the SEC
  • Oversight of all Javelin Joint Venture accounting
  • Small sites [i.e. Raytheon Systems Limited, Raytheon Systems France, ELCAN Midland, EO Innovations, RPM]
  • Intercompany accounting.
  • Participation in SAP User Groups and Corporate teams
  • Account Reconciliations, Quarterly MS level Trial Balance Reviews and semi-annual Corporate Trial Balance Reviews
This position reports to the General Accounting Manager and interfaces with outside auditors and various levels of leadership throughout Corporate, Financial Planning, Program Business, and Financial Accounting.

This position requires building positive relationships with our internal customers throughout Raytheon.

Minimum Required Skills:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or other Business or related discipline and a minimum of 8 years of related experience
Proven leadership skills
Strong analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of percentage of completion accounting
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)

Highly Desired Skills:
Understanding/working knowledge of SAP
Understanding/working knowledge of BW Reports
Understanding/working knowledge of GAAP
General working knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and relevant Raytheon policies
