Senior Manager Communications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Communications leader needed to develop and oversee content for a wide range of company communications for a leading government services provider.

The individual will help create and implement messaging platforms and communications strategies for internal, external and online audiences.

This includes overseeing employee internal email communications, newsletters, project-specific communications plans, press releases, news stories, and social media. This position requires a skilled communicator able to work in print and digital media formats and able to collaborate successfully with key internal stakeholders of all levels as well as with members of the media.

This individual must be able to work independently, collaboratively, and efficiently. He/She must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality, and the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity. This full-time position with full benefits may at times require a flexible schedule, accommodating emergencies and after-hours work including weekend and evening hours.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors Degree in communications, public relations, English, journalism, marketing or a related field with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a communications or public relations leadership role and 3 years management experience strongly preferred.

Experience working with the government or with government contractors is a significant plus, particularly in the areas of defense, space, aerospace or technology. Strong writer and editor. Able to manage others and directly support all levels of leadership. Strong project manager and highly organized, able to oversee multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient in MS Office suite, and strong attention to detail.

Highly Desired: High degree of personal responsibility, positive, can-do, go-the-extra-mile attitude. Ability to think strategically.

Social media savvy, comfortable hitting daily deadlines.
