Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Equipment Installation Technician

Classification: Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate: $25/hour (Starting)

Reports to: Project Manager

Start Date: 2 January 2019

Note: Duration of employment is the term of the project, approximately 6 months with potential
for continued employment beyond 6 months based on customer requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective:

Radio Frequency Identification Equipment Installation Technicians to provide on-site
installation, testing, and support for Logistics Associates customers in support of deployment of
RFID equipment. This role involves hands on training and includes evaluating the customer
requirements to ensure systems are installed in accordance with technical specifications and
customer requirements.

Essential Functions:
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to

- Provide excellent customer service and experience throughout the course of the project
- Interface with cross functional work teams such as project manager, and customer
support/services
- Assist other team members with preparing equipment for installation into multiple
vehicle types
- Perform operational testing procedures
- Perform troubleshooting of RFID hardware and software as required
- Be able to work independently or with another team member

RFID Equipment Installation Technician

- Be able to travel in and around VA, MD, DC, DE, PA, RI, NJ, NY, and MA
- Fill out installation/status reports and track progress
- Install and maintain equipment, such as, antennas, cables, control modules
- Perform hands-on, on-site troubleshooting, service and repairs
- Consult with vendor engineering personnel as required to resolve unanticipated
technical issues
- Maintain accountability of all company assigned equipment and tools

Supervisory Responsibility: Position may be called on to lead a 2-person team

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This
position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching,
crawling and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a limited full-time position and limited to the period of the project, 6 months. There is a
potential for additional work beyond 6 months, depending on customer requirements and
funding. The core work week is 40 hours, Monday Thursday, 7:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m. and
adjustable to accommodate customer requirements.

Job Announcement

Travel: Candidates are required to have their own means of transportation and be available to
travel in VA, MD, DC, DE, PA, RI, NJ, NY, and MA.

Preferred Education and Experience
1. Minimum of High School graduate degree or equivalent

2. Associates degree preferred

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Prior Service a plus
- Basic maintenance and electronic knowledge or experience is a plus
- RFID knowledge or experience is a plus
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks
- Business maturity with a positive attitude
- Self-starter with high initiative
- Must be able to travel every week to locations mention under responsibilities. Travel
80-90% for client installation and support
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
