ABOUT THIS POSITION
This position supports tasking at NAWC-AD, Patuxent River, MD; specifically instrumentation support for the E-2 Integrated Test Team (ITT). KBRwyle is seeking a motivated Electronics/Electrical Field Technician to join our Instrumentation and Mission Systems Laboratory team at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in support of E-2C and E-2D flight testing. Tasking will include instrumentation and aircraft wiring/connector repair, system modification, equipment installation, and instrumentation equipment maintenance/repair. Other responsibilities will include installing and configuring instrumentation equipment prior to test events, performing instrumentation system pre-flight and Post flight inspections and monitoring instrumentation system configuration/integrity prior to aircrew man up and during periods of aircraft maintenance. Successful candidate will demonstrate a solid work history of functioning as an integral team member, being a self-starter, and working independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Successful candidate will possess above average interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Candidate must be willing to primarily work Nightshifts or Weekend shifts. Occasional travel within the United States may be required.
High school graduation or equivalency certification and completion of a technical school or trade school or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments/ordnance, or engineering technology; or completion of at least 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of course studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum is required.
A minimum of eight (4) years of experience
in aircraft maintenance, instrumentation system support or electronics systems maintenance is required. Previous work experience installing/supporting instrumentation systems onboard naval aircraft is desired.
E-2 aircraft instrumentation or maintenance experience is considered a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Position requires a basic knowledge of system
troubleshooting and diagnosis technics using schematics and test equipment; such as, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and RF power meters .
Successful candidate will possess proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and similar computer–based productivity applications.
Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. A Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the past six years is required.
