The Systems Validation, Test, and Analysis Directorate (SVTAD) is the central focus for all integration, verification, validation and test activities within Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). The more than 700 employees of SVTAD provide their expertise to ensure customer success through the design, development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques. SVTAD employees are involved in all aspects of test including: design-for-test, integration, subsystem, and component level testing through Customer sell-off of IDS' most sophisticated systems and technologies.

Opportunities currently exist within SVTAD's Radar Systems Department. This SVTAD department provides system engineering, integration, and test expertise to the radar, sensor and ship systems programs within IDS. Our opportunities require individuals to perform various engineering activities depending on their experience and skill level, such as system test requirements development, planning, execution, and analysis for system integration and verification in hardware-in-the-loop facilities, flight tests, and sell-off of production radar systems; technical support on-site and as reach-back for deployed sensor systems; and modeling and simulation.

The AN/TPY-2 Radar program is looking for a hardware and power systems radar engineer.

Job Description:

The radar systems engineer will support radar integration and test activities and maintain and troubleshoot system hardware and power anomalies such as REX, BSG, SAMs, TRIMMs, power, cooling. Ensure the system health, calibration, preventive and corrective maintenance, and processing job orders and configuration control using the Automated Logistics Control System. The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Provide technical support for the troubleshooting of radar system issues
  • Coordinate and track preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Assist in radar power-up and power-down activities
  • Assist in radar calibration activities
  • Review Change Notices (CNs) for impact to system
  • Utilize ALCS for documentation maintenance activities and managing configurations
  • Travel to support system and program requirements

Note: This position can be a Salary Grade G08 or Salary Grade G09 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Required Skills:

  • 4+ years of Engineering experience with Radar hardware and power systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting, maintenance, calibration, and preventive maintenance programs
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or obtain interim within 90 days from date of hire

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with radar power-up and power-down, radar system maintenance and preventive programs
  • ALCS Certification
  • R6Sigma Certification
  • Field integration experience on DoD programs

Education Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
