Applications and Parts engineer supporting new designs, and new and mature production programs in the defense industry. Primary activities will include component selection, obsolescence management, resolution of production issues, supplier corrective actions, and serving as the primary technical contact to our suppliers for mechanical hardware, electromechanical assemblies and other commodities as needed. The applicant will also be expected to create and/or maintain software tools. Applicant will represent Raytheon in various industry associations.
The candidate is expected to work on his or her own with minimal direction. The candidate will be required to multi-task and prioritize work with minimal direction. The candidate will work independently to solve problems and communicate solutions to both co-workers and program customers. Candidate will work directly with Raytheon customers to clarify requirements, manage priorities and ensure the customer needs are met.

*Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 year of engineering production experience
  • Familiarity with manufacturers and their product lines
  • Skilled at problem resolution
  • The ability to lead without authority and to promote new processes and tools
  • The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly
  • Good written communication skills
  • Access to US only data systems
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
  • Previous experience as a component engineer with both commercial and defense companies
  • A broad technical education including electronics, physics and chemistry

Education Required:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, MS degree with 3 years of experience

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons.
