Sr Systems Engineer II - Military veterans preferred

As part of a talented team of engineers, maintain, extend and troubleshoot evolving and expanding infrastructure. Demonstrate superb technical competency, deliver mission critical infrastructure and ensure the highest levels of availability, performance and security. Qualified candidates will have a background in IT, computer systems engineering, or systems engineering and analysis.
Responsibilities

•Manage, tune and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
•Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems (VMware vSphere, Windows and Linux servers), application software and system management tools
•Proactively maintain the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, confidentiality and integrity
•Verify and validate OS patch status, antivirus updates and server software updates
•Participate in the design of information and operational support systems including: managing, administering, and documenting the logical and physical infrastructure in a multi-vendor environment
•Provide 2nd and 3rd tier technical support
•Liaise with stakeholders, vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Required Knowledge / Skills:

•Strong exposure to VMware, Microsoft Windows and Linux
•Experience in various server, workstation, router, switch and SAN technologies
•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
•Strong understanding of physical and virtual server deployment, management and administration.
•Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware)
•Minimum 1-year experience as either a systems administrator, virtualization administrator, active directory administrator or combination.
•U.S. Citizen with an active SECRET clearance
Desired Skills:

•Proven working experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX / Linux based environments.
•Solid Cloud experience, preferably in AWS
•Solid networking knowledge
Required Education (including Major):

•BS / BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Information Systems. Experience or professional certification may qualify in lieu of degree. 4 years of industry experience
