SAIC has an opening for a Systems Engineer located in N Charleston ,SC.

 

 

Job Description


• The candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in one of the following areas of Windows, Linux, or VMWare on the CND (Computer Network Defense) project.


Job duties to include:


• Work primarily on RHEL 6.x servers -Work with BIND DNS


• Work with SPLUNK -Work with Juniper Network and Security Manager (NSM)


• Work with DISA ACAS (Tenable Nessus)


• Work with Linux command line interface


• Change/modify configuration files


• Perform packet captures


• Restart services


• Add/remove user accounts


• Configure centralized authentication


• Review log files Work with VMWare ESXi Hypervisor and VSphere client software


• Build new ESXi hosts


• Establish clustering


• Work with resource management


• Deploy new VM ovf templates


• Create new VMs manually


• Perform system diagnostics


• Perform disaster recovery procedures


• Hardening in accordance with DISA STIG


• Work with Cisco IOS command line interface


• Configure layer 3 and layer 2 interfaces


• Create/Modify Access Control Lists(ACLs)


• Create/Modify Route Maps


• Configure centralized authentication


• Review logs and perform debugs


• Work with BGP and OSPF dynamic routing protocols


• Configure aggregated Ethernet logical interfaces


• Perform firmware updates on various platforms


• Hardening in accordance with DISA STIG


• Work with Juniper JUNOS command line interface


• Configure layer 3 and layer 2 interfaces


• Create/Modify firewall policies


• Review logs and perform debugs


• Work with BGP and OSPF dynamic routing protocols


• Configure centralized authentication


• Configure aggregated Ethernet logical interfaces


• Perform firmware updates on various platforms


• Hardening in accordance with DISA STIG


• Work with Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server


• Review system logs


• Install software


• Troubleshoot issues with CND applications interacting with other systems/appliances


• Work with local group policy


• Navigate system registry


• Hardening in accordance with DISA STIG


Travel:


• Light travel is required for this position.

Qualifications


Required Education and Experience:


• Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and a minimum of 5 years of IT experience. **Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.


Current DoD 8140 (previously 8570) CSWF certification requirements to include an Information Assurance certification and an Operating System/Computing Environment certification in designated area(s).


Clearance Requirements


• Must currently hold a Secret Clearance and have eligibility for a Top Secret Clearance.


Desired Certifications:


• Security+, CASP, CISSP, Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE, CEH, CCENT, CCNA, JNCIA
