AECOM is immediately hiring a qualified Aircraft Mechanic 1 Avionics in support of U.S Navy E-2C Aircraft maintenance operations at NS Norfolk VA.
Candidate must be able to prioritize a workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects and inspect the aircraft to certify that all maintenance performed by the team is correct and complete. A strong working knowledge of the E-2C Hawkeye avionics systems is preferred. Some of these systems include, but are not limited to the APS-145 Radar, OL-483/AP IFF, CP-2319/ASQ Mission Computer, AN/ARN-151 GPS, GNS-530 Navigation Set, ARC-210, ARC-182, and ARC-158 Communication set, and CDU-7000 Control Display Unit. Must qualify and maintain CDI qualification, be able to work rotating shifts and travel for detachments. Incumbent shall supervise and coordinate maintenance efforts on assigned shift and meet the daily flight schedule and maintenance tasks. Must be able to read, interpret and use maintenance instruction manuals, service bulletins, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and data tables to determine the feasibility and method to repair or replace malfunctioning or damaged aircraft components. Work is performed in a shop environment, aircraft hangars, flight line, and shipboard that may be moderately lighted, heated and ventilated. The employee is frequently exposed to the hazards of moving aircrafts, vehicles and support equipment. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment, hangars, flight line, and shipboard flight deck is usually loud, or may include unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors. Must be able to communicate about potential work hazards, and provide feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Three (3) years O-level experience on E-2C Aircraft to include two (2) years minimum experience as CDI.
Must have a thorough working knowledge of the Naval Aviation Logistic Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS).
Must possess and maintain a valid driverâ??s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
Must possess, or have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
Position will require travel.
Candidate must have good communication skills both orally and written.
Required to use Fall Protection equipment and personal protective equipment.
Must meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned task.
