The EO Space Electronics Department is seeking a Sr Engineering Manager for Raytheon Space and Airborne System. The Sr Mgr shall be capable of managing a multi-disciplinary group of engineers and subcontractors in developing Electronics for space applications. The Sr Mgr will be in charge of developing technical baseline for his specific domain(s) of expertise (Digital Electronics, Analog/Power Electronics, EO/IR Sensor Processing, FPGAs) and administering budgets, schedules, and performance standards. The Sr Mgr will also be responsible from achieving schedule milestones on-time and within allotted budget while managing his/her staff. The Sr Mgr is expected to solve technical issues within his domain(s) of expertise and help team in overcoming issues that impede program progress, allowing core staff to concentrate on their given Work Products. This position will be responsible for generating financial Estimate at Complete (EAC), supporting program Gate reviews, and facilitate independent Peer reviews of all Work Products. He/she will also participate in new business activities including proposals, preparing bids, and developing basis of estimates.

In addition this position may be asked to lead current IRAD efforts. The Sr Mgr shall act independently, guided only by very broad company policies and objectives. The Sr Mgr shall be able to apply advanced principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems which requires coordination of technologies across program requirements. The Sr Mgr shall lead briefings and technical meetings for internal and external stakeholders / customers.

You will be joining a diverse project team (circuit card designers, systems engineers, and software engineers) responsible for the design, development, and integration of high speed digital test equipment and PCB based test solutions for systems, sub-systems, and components of the Trident Program within Raytheon’s Space and Airborne Systems (SAS). A qualified candidate will be expected to interpret system requirements, technical data packages, and/or test requirements and translate them into new FPGA based test system designs which may include environmental testing, fault detection / fault isolation, and design for test analysis.

Required Skills:

  • At least 12 Years of relative experience: participating in the design, development, integration/test, and sell-off of complex military electronics subsystems
  • Specific domain expertise in design and development of Digital Electronics, Analog/Power Electronics, EO/IR Processing, FPGAs
  • Requirements Development, Requirement Verification
  • Experience with developing technical baselines and cost volumes in response to Request for Proposals from the government
  • Experience at the architectural level designing and implementing complex embedded systems
  • Experience with end-to-end FPGA development cycle including designing from customer requirements, implementation, integration and test
  • Experience with advance verification techniques using SystemVerilog, QuestaSim UVM framework or similar
  • Experience with industry standard collaboration tools and techniques such as Jira software, Confluence, Subversion
  • Hands-on experience in testing of products using logic analyzer, high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, or FPGA debugging tools
  • Knowledge of embedded processors, SOC development, IP creation and integration
  • Strong team leader with good interpersonal skills as well as excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • 6 or more years’ experience as a Team Leader (FPGA Team Lead, Project Leader,...)
  • 6 or more years’ experience supporting Bid & Proposals and/or Cost Account Manager role
  • Strong understanding and experience with Earned Value Management
  • Strong understanding and experience with Configuration Management tools
  • Experience designing circuit cards with large FPGAs and Processors
  • Ability to handle a dynamic environment and to coordinate actions, fast learner. Demonstrates initiative, ability to work independently towards program goals.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team, providing technical and schedule status to management, customers and fellow team members.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Secret Security Clearance on day one of employment
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
  • Ability to gains Special Access and SSBI

Desired Skills:
  • Earned Value Management, Establishing and maintaining IMS
  • Strong presentation creation and delivery experience
  • Prior experience in Defense or Aerospace
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python and utilities such as Make, Tcl, etc.
  • Familiarity with circuit card design, implementation, integration, and test
