We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced software engineer with direct OSlsoft Pl system product experience in real-time data collection and analysis, Join a diverse team of engineers, developers, analysts and administrators to design, implement and support a Pl System-based meter data management system. Resolves highly complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations for existing (GOTS) and planned (COTS) capabilities.


  1. Designs, develops, codes, tests, and debugs highly complex new software products or makes significant enhancements to existing software. Software development in Pl Visualization Suite, Pl Integrator for ESRl and ArcGIS and Pl System Access Software Engineer.
  2. Develops and applies advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems. Technical Design including writing functional and technical specifications.
  3. Resolves highly complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.
  4. System installation, configuration, performance testing and tuning.
  5. Factors emerging technologies and product supportability into design and implementation. Customer consulting and requirements gathering. Develop system models, visualizations and dashboards, analytical equations and reports
  6. Provides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials. Developing best practice designs incorporating the full OSlsoft stack.
  7. Familiar with System Architecture and advises hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
  8. Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress, and presents results to management and/or customer personnel. Develop system models, visualizations and dashboards, analytical equations and reports.
  9. Serves as a customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met on a timely basis.
  10. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced software developers, and may have supervisory responsibilities.
  11. Serves as a technical team or task leader.
  12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  13. Participates in special projects as required.


  1. 10-15 years of related software development experience in a DoD or Utility Environment
  2. At least 1 year of relevant experience working directly with the OSlsoft PI System (3 years preferred)
  3. Solid understanding of the OSlsoft PI system architecture with demonstrated experience designing and implementing highly reliable and large-scale data management system
  4. Experience installing, configuring, validating and tuning PI Server and interfaces including experience implementing analytic solutions with PI Asset Framework and performance equations
  5. Experience installing and tailoring client software using the PI Visualization Suite working with energy management systems or relevant real-time data system

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  2. Master’s Degree preferred.
