The successful candidate will perform a variety of complex system engineering tasks that include design, development, integration, testing of an aerial system, post flight analysis and development of briefs and reports to present to senior Army leadership. Additionally, the candidate will participate as a team member and/or lead on project teams that oversee systems engineering, requirements development, assessment and insertion of new capabilities and signal, accreditation, sensor integration, software integration, flight testing and post test data analysis and report development. The qualified candidate will be capable of system conceptualization, system level requirements definition and system test and evaluation.
Assists in developing new requirements and corresponding engineering level of effort estimates, evaluating cost and technical proposals.
Participate in weekly project and engineering meetings to review project progress and issues.
Effectively communicate and coordinate with the senior military leadership, US Government customers, Contracting officer and Contractors (Prime and Sub), to establish relationships to support program management business rhythms, capture initiatives and other new requirements as appropriate.
Review and evaluate projects Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM)
Ensure that proper systems engineering disciplines are being employed on all efforts
Attend various IPTs, provide engineering input to vendors and team members
Prepare briefs and presentations of sensor performance to present and support project management meetings and briefings to external Defense organizations and senior Army leadership.
Excellent technical management and communication required to oversee execution and technical accuracy.
Knowledge/experience with aerial ISR/RSTA/SIGINT systems and technologies as well as data processing (preferred)
Must have experience coordinating with the multiple contractors, 116 th MIB, NGIC, and I2WD personnel
Will be required to perform system background; Must have an understanding of the software engineering processes, software life cycle and can articulate status and requirements to stakeholders and contractor software teams.
Must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred) or related scientific or technical discipline and at least 10 years of experience in development, integration and documentation or in a related field of system and test engineering
Must have Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
Ability to exhibit flexibility, initiative, and innovation when dealing with ambiguous and fast-paced situations is required for this role.
Must have experience leading multiple teams, manage relationships, and be a key contributor in training efforts.
Must have experience in data-gathering, analytical, and problem-solving skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
