ManTech Growth & Capabilities (G&C) is seeking a hands-on solution architect with a passion for DevOps and system Engineering, the ability to develop, implement and lead a specific technical strategy based on client and market needs. The ideal candidate will have a high level ability to understand and assess new technologies and understanding their applicability to business.

The candidate will provide technical leadership and service delivery strategy by actively identifying and solving complex problems, envisioning and enabling critical processes, and fundamentally helping the team and our customers achieve their objectives. The candidate will provide relevant, thoughtful and prescriptive advice, grounded in relevant experience, with clarity and objectivity. Must manage and implement multiple work streams in a timely manner ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, and according to customer specifications.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Performs as the hands-on DevOps Architect and technical expert, in a small team environment, to solution and develop strategic technical capabilities as directed
  • Work as a lead subject matter expert in a small team environment with additional matrixed support to deliver innovative solutions through DevOps techniques
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by continually innovating and offering compelling solutions that meet client business, technical and security requirements
  • Defines architecture standards, policies and procedures for the organization, structure, attributes, design documentation, data flow, security and nomenclature of data elements, and apply accepted data content standards to technology projects
  • Create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution including design, installation, and administration documentation


  • Candidate’s core competence shall be in web software development with python and other framework technologies
  • Candidate’s secondary competence shall be in Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, Data Engineering, and/or Virtualization Engineering
  • Experience with DevOps, especially automated testing and continuous integration
  • Experience in configuration tools such as Ansible (Chef, Puppet, or Terraform also acceptable)
  • Familiarity with engineering in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Five or more years of systems design, engineering, and administrative experience
  • Working knowledge of linux, containers, docker, kubernetes, and/or openshift
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows/Redhat/CentOS Linux/Ubuntu Linux
  • Experience with Virtualization Technologies, such as VMware, KVM, Xen
  • Experience with cloud computing markets (such as AWS, DO and related)
  • Experience with storage systems infrastructure
  • Experience with systems and network performance tuning, capacity planning, backup and recovery, system architecture and design as well as high availability concepts
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of networking (particularly TCP/IP), security, and web application servers desired
  • DBA experience with MySQL, MS SQL, and/or Oracle desired
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (Agile) standards desired
  • Telecom, Information Security, or Wireless/Mobile Technology background desired.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Requires Bachelors degree or equivalent and ten to twelve years of related experience
  • Minimum of four years experience in technology/tools specific to the target platforms
