Collision Avoidance Engineer
Perform all duties of the EOS Missions Collision Avoidance (CA) Engineer which includes but is not limited to the following:
Directly report to the EOS Flight Operations Team (FOT) Manager
Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of propulsive maneuvers for the EOS missions (Terra, Aqua, and Aura).
Trending and data analysis on a daily, weekly, monthly and long term basis
Work with the ESMO Management, FDS, CARA and other FOT engineers for high interest event (HIE) analysis and risk mitigation maneuver (RMM) preparation.
Lead the FOT in the preparation and recommendation for actions in the event of a HIE and RMM
Develop/Create process improvements, enhancements for Collision Risk Management System (CRMS) and CA responsibilities
Create and update procedures, test plans, and requirements related to CRMS and CA responsibilities
Train new GNC engineers on basic HIE analysis and CRMS functionality
Submit monthly or other reports
BS in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline
Experience Requirements (SE2):
1 to 5 years of spacecraft flight operations experience including subsystem experience (EOS Flight Operations preferred)
