Description:Spacecraft Mission Analyst: Applies technical principles, theories, and concepts to perform a broad range of spacecraft mission design, analysis, and trajectory simulation tasks.

Typical tasks: spacecraft mission trajectory design and optimization, performance margin and propellant budget analyses, simulation model development and documentation.

Mission design includes: nominal and contingency mission transfer orbit burn plans, mission availability, launch windows, multiple body relative motion, ground station contacts, launch vehicle integration.

Under supervision, perform analyses for spacecraft mission design involving work on the Orion NASA contract design, analysis, and verification phases. Join a talented team of Orion engineers engaged in the design and fabrication of a human-rated spacecraft that will take humans farther than we have ever gone before.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college/university.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of technical principles, theories, and concepts to perform a broad range of spacecraft mission design, analysis, and trajectory simulation tasks.
Knowledge of orbital mechanics, orbital dynamics, orbit design, or astrodynamics.
Demonstrated ability to solve a variety of technical problems of moderate complexity in mission design and analysis, or related areas.
Experience with trajectory/orbit design and simulation tools (i.e. Satellite/Systems Tool Kit (STK), trajectory optimization and mission planning tools, etc.). Possess a learning orientation, adaptability, and willing to take on new assignments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), engineering applications (MATLAB), and programming languages (C/C++, Fortran).
