PROJECT LEADER – CONSTRUCTION

This position is located as a client site in Mt Vernon, IN.

The incumbent supports client projects at this location.

No per diem will be offered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the daily field construction of an individual project in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company.

Capable of running a project of $7 to $15 million.

Supervises and directs the daily efforts of the physical construction of the project through daily coordination of all field activities, subcontractor direction, and code/specification compliance.

Responsibilities include technical input for schedule creation, subcontracting strategy, subcontractor scopes of work, quality of construction, schedule adherence, budget containment, safety, selection of methods, systems, and techniques of construction, and labor cost control through daily attention to unit costs and adjustments in crew size or composition, etc.

years’ construction experience, with a good understanding of all trades associated with commercial and industrial construction

Refinery, Chemical, Pharmaceutical industry experience required.

Strong, broad background in construction encompassing buildings, chemical process equipment and piping, electrical / instrumentation and civil site prep is ideal.

Knowledge and understanding of safe work practices related to construction and ability to manage work permit process.

Ability to communicate written and verbally to client, team and management

Ability to lead meetings and take meeting minutes

Ability to work with minimal supervision in daily tasks

Knowledge of technical vocabularies and terminology common to construction industry.

Must be able to read or understand:

• P&ID’s

• Isometric piping drawings

• Wiring diagrams and single line diagrams a plus

• Equipment drawings

• Steel erection drawings

Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including word processing, spreadsheets and applications

Excellent verbal and written communication, listening and interpersonal skills

Must be able to maintain positive relationship through daily communication with the client

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is located at a plant and requires exposure to ambient temperature extremes

·

Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots

·

Day-to-day physical requirements may involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs frequently, etc

·

Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs

May require walking the plant property
