SAIC is seeking a unique combination of skills to fill a role in our Austin, TX office. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in game development in the areas of both design and production, as well as substantial experience communicating with government customers. Experience with Unity development environments is strongly preferred, but may be substituted with Unreal or other engines. The selected candidate must have demonstrated experience in shipping completed games or game- based applications.  Agile process using JIRA and Confluence is strongly preferred as well. Requirements gathering, documentation, and realistic development estimation skills are required. Knowledge of government contracting is a plus.

Ideally, the candidate will have over 10 years’ experience in managing game development in a variety of environments, on a wide number of platforms. Must work well with a diverse team of professionals located across geographically diverse locations. Selected candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills within the development team and with management and customers. Experience with flight simulation a plus.



BS and 9+ years experience desired (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree)

  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software to meet external customer or internal employee training, simulation or learning (or other) objectives, typically utilizing game technologies and/or methodologies.
  • Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of software applications for training, education, simulation or other purposes. End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software utilizing commercially available game engines or written from scratch.
  • Determines user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications including Virtual, Mixed and Augmented Reality, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
  • Ensures software standards are met, code is documented and backed up in Source Control.
