Description:This is a full-time engineering position for PMS450 shipyard tasking. Position will require the candidate to act as the overall PMS450E lead for Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) testing program and provide problem resolution and mitigation. Position will also require involvement in-depth technical discussions with NUWC as well as various NPES stakeholders to manage EMI test requirements, test development, and overall EMI test execution.
Virginia Class Submarine experience and working knowledge of Electric Boat and Newport News shipyard work controls are required. Thorough knowledge of US Navy EMI/Tempest testing standards is required. Demonstrated knowledge and use of all Navy electronic test gear to include but not limited to, signal generators, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, both time-domain reflectometers (TDR) and optical TDRs, as well as radio frequency sweep knowledge.
General technical engineering expertise is required across all Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES). The ability to coordinate and communicate effectively directly with subsystem Program Acquisition Resource Managers (PARMs) and technical warrant holders to develop forward resolution plans specific to EMI issues seen across the Virginia class development and test program. Candidate must have technical writing experience, to include test form requirement and development.
