Job title Senior Firmware Engineer

What you will do
Perform a wide variety of professional level firmware engineering assignments with considerable discretion as to work details in the design and development of systems. Modify, analyze, design, program, etc. firmware products as required.

Responsibilities will include
Architect and lead firmware design, development and testing efforts for complex electromechanical products.
Participate in product requirement analysis and create firmware specifications.
Create test specifications, test protocols and perform firmware V&V testing.
Introduce new engineering practices, procedures and tools to increase proficiency.
Maintain firmware for existing products.
Investigate and resolve firmware or system bugs.
Ensure that projects are documented in conformance with Tecan Systems, ISO and FDA requirements.

What you bring along
BS/MS in electrical/electronic engineering, computer science, or equivalent with 5-10 years of directly-related experience
Proven ability in leading design and development of complex firmware for commercial products on a 32-bit microcontroller platform
Highly proficient in C/C++ and Object Oriented Programming for embedded systems
Highly proficient with at least one RTOS such as ,uC/OS-II, SYS/BIOS or similar
Familiarity with development/debugging tools e.g. logic analyzers and oscilloscopes, JTAG, etc.
Experience with multi-tasking or multi-threading with and without RTOS
Experience with board bring-up and able to read schematics
Experience with communication protocols and able to write drivers for I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, CAN, etc.
Motivated learner with excellent learning ability
Passionate about delivering high quality results
Resourceful in creating effective solutions

Experience with full product life cycle from concept to market release
Experience with motor and motion control is a plus
Experience working in an FDA regulated environment
