Diego Garcia: IT Support Technician

Participates in the planning and delivery of a full range of customer support services to the clients supported by the organization; installs, configures, upgrades, and troubleshoots any hardware and software components; presents formal and informal training and assistance to costumers; and reports, responds to, and resolves customer request.

Receives, responds to, and ensures complete resolution of any help center call; documents actions taken; gives needed guidance or training to costumers to prevent recurrences; and assists more experienced specialists in resolving very complex problems.

Under direct supervision, performs on-site installation and preventive maintenance of equipment and other electriconic devices. Configures and tests software on customer workstations.

Performs diagnostics and analysis on equipment/electronic devices.

Performs periodic and corrective maintenance on installed equipment and responds to service calls based on priority.

Ensures proper inventory of equipment, parts, and materials.

Modifies or updates equipment when necessary.

Adheres to a Problem and Change Management processes and procedures.

Maintains records and paperwork.

Interacts with clients to ensure satisfaction.

Performs other duties as assigned.

BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years’ experience in a Microsoft Windows environment with field experience in personal computer (PC) hardware installation, configuration and maintenance.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING

IT Support Technician must meet requirements outlined in the DOD 8140 directive matrix IAT-1.

EDUCATION:

Two years’ experience in a Microsoft operating environment with field experience in personal computer (PC) hardware installation, configuration and maintenance.

EXPERIENCE:

Must have knowledge of Microsoft Window 10 Professional, Microsoft Office 2013 Professional and BMC remedy. Good interpersonal skills. Able to effectively communicate (written and oral) in English with management, clients, and all other employees.

Additional requirements:

Must be fluent in English

Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 15 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining

Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
