Machinist: Perform repairs and modifications on F-16 aircraft and aircraft components.
Will be responsible for the training of Iraq Air Force Trainees in the career field of machinist and welding. Experience in brake and Landing Gear system inspection, tear down and repair. Will also include fault isolation, troubleshooting, and repair of system failures detected during operational checks associated with modifications and restoration of aircraft to flying condition subsequent to accomplishment of modifications. Uses various test equipment, mills, lathes, welders and precision equipment. Knowledgeable with Blueprints, schematics, diagrams and maintenance manuals. Must be able to provide technical guidance, work with and train customer technicians.

Duties: In addition to the duties listed below, this person will be responsible to assist with preparation, teach, coordinate and assist with training requirements (customer and LM) for this duty section. Other responsibilities include maintaining training records and preparing reports and other related training products.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/INFO: . Must have strong communications and interpersonal skills. Must read, write and speak English fluently. Must have or be able to rapidly secure a DOD secret clearance. Regularly required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive movements, and perform work from ground level to overhead. This position requires frequent standing for long periods, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and twisting. Assignment location is in Iraq.

The first several months of this assignment could be conducted at a US F-16 training location followed by site set-up activities in Iraq to include but not limited to light to medium construction activities such as assembling warehouse shelving and furniture in all areas of the maintenance complex. Candidates must be willing and able to participate in all set-up activities, assist with receiving and storing supplies and support equipment. The site will still be under construction at the time of the first arrivals. Environmental/weather conditions can be extreme during different seasons. Site is a secure compound which team members will be confined to. Flexibility, a positive attitude and excellent people skills are a must.

*Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

*SECURITY Clearance REQUIRED. Must have an Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to start date AND must maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
Aircraft machinist/ Welder Fighter or Similar aircraft
Candidate must be a high school graduate or have completed an equivalent program. Candidate must have held a USAF skill level 7 (or equivalent) in his career field. Candidate must have at least 4 years’ experience with F-16 aircraft maintenance activities. Progressive and documented experience in the fighter aircraft maintenance environment. Documented qualifications in related maintenance fields
Have a working knowledge of electronic and mechanical systems and components on the F-16 aircraft
Desired Skills:
Experience in machine shop requirements for 6 year F-16 landing gear inspections

Experience working with foreign customers
Ability to speak/communicate in Arabic

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access)
