Description:Supervises employees who provide physical security and fire protection to safeguard personnel and property. Coordinates subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Directs studies and oversees implementation of federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Monitors the acquisition of rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies. Oversees the preparation of manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitor’s access to restricted records and materials. Insures that security violations are investigated and reports specifying preventive action to be taken are prepared. Establishes regular security inspections and coordinates with firefighting and civil law-enforcement agencies. Manages requirements of the National Industrial security Program (NISPM), Department of Defense Manual Number 5205.07, ICD 705, Underwriter Labs (UL), fire protection, emergency management, and other regulated and compliance security programs. Develops security control center and access control system solutions for improved operational efficiency and training initiatives. May be responsible for ensuring classified areas and holdings meet the requirements set for in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual and ICD 705. May coordinate the activities of patrol cars, emergency firefighting equipment, radar, closed-circuit TV, and communications systems.
Must have ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must hold a private security weapon license.
Must be able to obtain HAZWOPER certification.
Must be proficient in the use of computer applications (Microsoft Office applications, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Must be proficient in the use of and access control/closed circuit TV applications.
Must have experience managing personnel.
Must have the ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time and work irregular hours, holidays, weekends, call-out and overtime
Demonstrated leadership and communication attributes. Computer software applications related to Security Report writing skills. Experience with administering and managing automated access control systems/CCTV and Central monitoring operations Knowledge of Underwriter Lab 2050 requirements, NISP and Closed Area physical security standards. Typical minimums include appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education.
