This position is eligible for a Sign on Bonus of up to 40k for a candidate with a current TS/SCI that can be verified and hired at Raytheon.

Job Description:
Raytheon IIS seeks a qualified engineer to provide support to our Front-End Processor (FEP) subsystem of a antenna ground station. The engineer will support design and development activities for new work and troubleshooting of existing operational antenna ground system assets. Efforts would include assessing new products and methods or technologies and developing and implementing solutions across multiple systems and hardware platforms, and in some cases providing subject matter expertise to the subcontract management team. An active US Government TS/SCI clearance is required as of day one for this position (US Citizenship required).

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop Hardware Engineering proposals based on meeting requirements for electrical systems design
  • Prepare Hardware Engineering specifications for subsystems and procurement specifications for subcontractors
  • Represent Hardware Engineering in development and evaluation of system architectures, designs, and interfaces that meet system specifications
  • Prepare and present hardware specifications and design analyses in customer and program reviews
  • Participate in trade studies and vendor/product selection
  • Support design, integration and verification activities as an electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Develop drawings for FEP equipment systems (CAD capability not required).

Required Skills:
  • Hardware, Computer, or Electrical Engineering system design experience
  • Experience designing an integrated system that includes network, compute, and specialized FEP equipment
  • General knowledge of common information system (compute and network) hardware interfaces
  • Experience verifying hardware requirements as they apply to a subsystem.
  • Experience writing and reviewing manuals, procedures, plans, specifications, engineering drawings and notebooks
  • Experience presenting technical information to an audience
  • Experience with developing the Bill of Material (BOM) required to produce a hardware product; initiating the procurement process; and monitoring procurement and logistics progress
  • Able to travel on occasion, domestically, for up to 2 weeks
  • Active US Government TS/SCI security clearance (US Citizenship required)
  • 6 years of related work experience

Desired Skills:
  • Experience using and configuring hardware (e.g. setting up system network time protocol)
  • Experience system troubleshooting in heterogeneous hardware environments
  • Experience with hardware testing
  • Experience with Linux-based systems
  • Experience with requirements management throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Experience participating in hardware design and development activities.

Required Education:
BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Physics), and 6 years of related work experience.
