The Professional Teacher position is a summer position in various organizations throughout Missile Systems for educators currently enrolled in the University of Arizona’s Teachers In Industry program in the College of Education. Assignments will be STEM-related in Engineering, Operations, IT, and Finance. Task descriptions include (but are not limited to) production support (developing manufacturing processes), materials characterization, coding, and automation of verification checks, among others. These assignments will allow them to experience real-world STEM employment so that they may bring their experiences back to their classrooms.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
· Participation in the University of Arizona Teachers In Industry Program.
·Currently teaching students science, technology, engineering, math, or computer science
·Basic Microsoft computer skills, specifically Word, Excel, and Power Point
·Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
·This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Desired Education, Skills and Experience:
·BS Degree in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Engineering.
·Experience leading technical teams or projects

The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
