Tool Room Attendant is responsible for the inventory control of items maintained in the Tool room. Maintains the tool room in a neat and orderly manner. Assist co-workers with tooling needs, and provide information to new employees regarding tooling and supplies. All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
Maintain control of tool room, issue tools and supplies to production personnel; returns tooling to assigned tool room location and keep company property well maintained and clean.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to operate a forklift (if required) and other motor vehicle. Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors. Moderate to heavy physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily production environment. The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Ability to be self-directed, requiring little or no supervision.
This Position is in Qatar.

Stock tooling and supplies:
Periodically, as scheduled, conduct inventory count of workstations. Conduct inventory cycle counts of Tool Room inventories, as scheduled. Correct any inventory deficiencies or discrepancies. Issue test reports for testing of new tooling. Tag and report to supervisor all tools and equipment that is inoperable, broken or unsafe to use. Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage. Keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. General computer experience is required.
Keep and maintain the following:

  • All dirty and oily rags in proper container(s).
  • Back support belts, face shields and all other safety equipment in a safe operating condition.
  • All compressed air hoses, fittings and nozzles in a safe operating condition. Do not use them if they are bulging, frayed or if the coupler is damaged.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Must have good working knowledge of tools, parts, supplies and equipment used in the field. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently. Strong verbal and written communication skills, plus analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills. Must be customer service oriented. Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctually standards. Ability to evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently.

Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience, unless prohibited by local laws/regulations or High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and equivalent experience and 8 years prior relevant experience.
