Senior Licensed Clinical Social Worker (MacDill AFB, FL)
The Senior Licensed Clinical Social Worker will function within an operational unit, as a Behavioral Health Care Provider and is responsible for the application of social work procedures and techniques.
The Senior LCSW shall assist and support the Psychologist in a manner as outlined within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges. The Senior LCSW shall assist and support, yet not be the governing psychiatric authority, during psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate. The Senior LCSW shall not establish psychiatric diagnoses including providing psychological treatment for individuals and groups, helping medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries, and assisting in rehabilitation of patients.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Education: The successful candidate shall possess ( or obtain within one year of employment ) a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology. The contractor shall have successfully completed an Internship/Residency in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association; or the ability to obtain a waiver as successfully completing the internship/residency.
Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) or equivalent (MSSW, MSSA) degree from a graduate school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions ( or be able to within one year of employment ).
Minimum of two (2) years within the past five (5) years in the independent practice of clinical social work in a mental health setting.
Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist ( or be able to obtain within one year of employment ) in one of any U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or U.S. Virgin Islands.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of professional standards and ethics regarding the delivery of clinical social work services.
Experience in brief behavioral interventions.
May be required to receive and maintain clinical practice privileges.
Desired Education, Experience, Skills or Training:
Position requires U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status.
Perform other assignments and duties, as required.
