The primary purpose of this position is perform and review general accounting activities and projects associated with Financial Accounting for the Corporate Controllers Group (CCG) as a way of ensuring CAG financials are properly stated. The primary responsibilities of this position will involve both supervisory and preparatory roles. This position requires sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), general ledger controls, preparation and/or review of balance sheet reconciliations, and more. This position will communicate frequently, clearly, and timely with personnel at all levels with the Corporate Controllers Group (CCG) and throughout the Company.
Job Responsibilities:
Learn and own overall process for specified area
Supervise and build talent in 1-2 staff and handle all related human resource requirements
Develop and document new processes
Lead special projects involving financial accounting matters, such as mergers/acquisitions, temporary service agreements, policy updates, business partner requests, creation of new processes and business systems conversions.
Analyze and report on balance sheet fluctuations
Handle internal and external audit requests and action items
Complete requests from business/corporate partners timely and accurately
Assist in maintaining controls over accounting transactions to ensure the accuracy of the general ledger including documentation of Sarbanes Oxley requirements
Provide support for internal and external financial statements in compliance with GAAP and/or other regulatory requirements
Train others
Collaborate with other teams to find effective solutions to problems
Evaluate the effectiveness of processes and procedures and develop improvements as needed.
Provide guidance and communicate with remote team members in a 3rd party outsourcing relationship
Build strong relationships with teams onsite and overseas
Alert management of situations that may adversely affect the company’s overall financial condition.
Review and perform monthly and quarterly tasks, journal entries, and reconciliations in accordance with GAAP and audit requirements (as noted in the CAE/Assurenet tool)
Review and/or prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and continuously perform an aggressive review of the balance sheet for assigned area
Maintain a contingency plan for all key processes and provide support for the contingency plans for other areas.
Ensure that support and documentation for everything we do “stands alone” and is easy to follow for all assignments
Comply with all Confidentiality rules and requirements set forth by CCG Management and the Code of Conduct
Lead multiple projects and assignments at the same time with minimal supervision
Anticipate and welcome change in job duties as business demands change and staff changes
Assist in the hiring/interview process for levels that would report to you or your peers
Ask clarifying questions when things aren’t clear and teach others to do this
Provide quarterly feedback on performance to your direct reports
Build and lead presentations for knowledge building and training purposes.

Knowledge, Training, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
CPA, CMA certification and/or advanced degree preferred
Minimum 5 years of business experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, manufacturing, etc.
Strong communication, organization, planning, and project management skills
Balance sheet account reconciliation experience preferred.
SAP experience preferred
Supervisory experience a plus

Some work off-site as needed
Occasional travel may be required, both domestic and international but not likely.
