Secure our Nation, Ignite your FutureReviews, analyzes and prepares contractor, sub-contractor and customer program submittals including accident risk assessment reports; preliminary hazard analyses, system hazard analyses, tracking system and system inspection checklists, ground and range safety and orbital safety procedures and accident and incident investigation analyses; reviews and analyzes program development documentation for new and ongoing program including design criteria, specification and drawing, test operations and maintenance procedures, safety equipment and personal protective clothing, trade-off studies and siting plans; conducts independent and complex analyses to evaluate system design, accident risk factors and hazard energy sources and recommends major abatement or mitigation actions to prevent or correct safety hazards; prepares test plans, monitors results and prepares final test reports; conducts special analyses as directed. Requires Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience and two to four years of related experience.
Conduct system safety hazard analysis and assessments for the H-60 and H-60 related programs. Identify program hazards and risks, recommend risk priority, assist in conducting System Safety Working Groups (SSWGs) recommendations to mitigate or remove the risk area. Track, maintain and report program risks, hazards, safety action records, messages, agenda, minutes and action items.
Provide engineering and technical support in the development of reliability and safety metrics for Propulsion and Power subsystems such as engines, APU, starters, generators and electrical systems, and related aircraft subsystems including weapon system software. Perform fault tree analysis for identified fleet failures to uncover the root-cause of the failure. Provide recommendations to mitigate or eliminate hazards and identified system safety concerns.
Develop Hazard Risks Indices with supporting technical documentation validating the risk level. Support Engineering Investigations by providing safety related information and analysis, identify and assess root-cause and causes contributing to failure, and evaluate recommend actions by investigators.
Perform system safety analysis for design modernization programs, equipment modifications, new or modified software releases and engineering change proposals. Identify and report design deficiencies and corrective action recommendations to reduce risk.
