Position Title: Indonesian Language Instructor

Position Location: Variable ( as required Hawaii, California, North Carolina, Okinawa Japan)

Employment Status: Part Time On Call - 1099 (labor + reimbursable travel expenses)

Position Description: The Center for Advanced Operational Culture Learning (CAOCL) offers a range of support for unitsâ?? preparing to deploy by providing live instruction, exercise support, and reach back support. The language instructor provides operationally relevant language and culture knowledge of Indonesia and the surrounding region to Marine Commanders, their staffs, and Marine units. The employee will provide language training for up to 8 hours a day for 5 contiguous days. Class size not to exceed 35 students. Language will include (but not be limited to) rapport building and simple questions as well as advising Marines on the best practices regarding the use of interpreters. The employee shall be provided with courseware and expected to teach Bahasa Indonesia using a combination of the material and their expertise/personal experiences. The employee work outcome is to better prepare Marines to confidently interact with foreign militaries, populations, and leaders at various levels.

Job Requirements (minimum): Must have recognized language certifications or proficiency tests verifying competence (to mastery) of the target language to speak, read, and write (e.g. DLPT, College transcripts) and be willing to be subjected to language examinations. The candidate must have documented experience in two (2) of the following culture/language specialties: Living abroad in the target country for over 2 years, native born speaker, academic training in the target language for 3 years or more, military training in the target language and application for 2 years or more. Candidate must provide after instruction reports and related documents.

Highly Desired Skills: The candidate must be able to teach using a variety of instructional methods to include participatory learning, role playing, adult learning etc. The candidate should also be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, and a web browser. Candidate must be able to travel and work independently. A military veteran with combat advisor experience is a plus.

Interview process: If you are screened for this position you will start with a technical interview with the Program Manager (PM) over the phone. If he identifies you as a good fit, you will have a follow-on phone interview with the President of II Corps. If you are selected, you will be contacted by Human Resources with an offer letter and instructions for onboarding with the company. The PM will then provide detailed direction for coordination and execution of training events.
