Job Summary
Partner with assigned function to set strategy, develop results oriented interventions/programs and oversee the day-to-day accountabilities for the function. Manages several areas of Human Resources support, including but not limited to, recruitment and retention, staffing and orientation, employee relations, project management, training and development, and assisting in the coordination of human resource planning initiatives. The position will spend a significant amount of time leading and developing the staff, building relationships with management throughout the organization and driving the function’s strategic plan. 10+ years related experience.
Position Responsibilities
Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities;
Accomplish staff job results by coaching and counseling employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducting training; implementing systems, policies, and procedures;
Partner with business and HR Leadership to co-create business specific human resource strategies aligned with the needs of each respective business;
Partner with continuous improvement team and business to shape culture, develop high performing work teams and influence outcomes;
Lead and develop HR professionals, leveraging enterprise HR resources as needed to meet the needs of the business;
Partner with other teams as appropriate, to develop and deliver effective strategies/programs in regards to employee engagement, staffing, organizational design, talent management, training, compensation & benefits, labor relations, change management and diversity & inclusion;
Develop and implement legally compliant, cost-effective and competitive employment strategies and policies;
Provide coaching and advise management on effective ways to administer HR programs and manage and resolve complex employee issues;
Responsible for overall management of Human Resource compliance programs, including but not limited to, EEO, unemployment, AAP, litigation, retention, termination, turnover and severance issues. May conduct difficult employee counseling sessions regarding EEO charges, ADA, FMLA, performance and termination;
Develop training and development processes for needs assessment, design implementation and evaluation;
Monitor and stay abreast of employee relations’ trends and practices through the analysis of external HR metrics and internal key performance indicator (KPI) data;
Recruit and retain candidates in the face of extremely competitive market conditions, identify and select candidates with the skills and philosophy compatible with the needs and culture of the organization;
Protect the company’s interest while complying with government regulations by communicating awareness of the legal implications of all personnel actions;
Lead special projects that may be enterprise-wide.
Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related degree required;
Master’s degree in Business or Organization Development, PHR/SHRM-CP preferred;
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Human Resources, with 5 years managing others;
Demonstrated experience with ERISA, EEOC and DOL regulations, employment sourcing, communications, human relations, and management skills;
Demonstrated experience with benefits and compensation administration, market pricing, labor law, and organizational development;
Demonstrated experience managing projects and problem solving;
Effective and deliberate communication skills, both verbal and written;
Excellent influencing and conflict management skills;
Experience leading large organizational change, including organizational structure;
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc);
Experience with PeopleSoft, Workday or other HRIS;
Demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgency;
Ability to deal with ambiguity and change in a dynamic business environment as well as conflict management and mediation skills;
Experience and understanding of continuous improvement concepts and standards;
Demonstrated ability to develop strong consulting relationships with senior leaders and influence business leaders through coaching and partnership.
