The Cyber Training Event Designer is an expert designing realistic cyber training environments necessary to support the cyber training and exercise objectives of the Cyber Mission Forces (CMF) across all branches of service. The Cyber Training Event Designer will have proven ability to design realistic cyber environments, skilled at assessing training objectives to develop the appropriate scenarios and the ability to work with training customers to scope their training events to the capabilities of the cyber training environment. The Cyber Training Event Designer will support the end users and sponsoring organizations during cyber training and exercise events, providing clear and concise technical leadership to the supporting planning teams to ensure smooth and effective cyber training. The selected candidate must be able to independently work with end users and customers, inferring, adapting and deriving cyber training requirements, and then develop the plan to communicate these requirements to the event staff which will build-out required environments. The Event Designer is expected to engage with customer and build relationships to develop a deep understanding of warfighter requirements. Willingness to travel to customer sites and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS//SCI level clearance is required.

Responsibilities Include:

Plan, rapidly adjust and deliver realistic cyber training events and environments
Interface directly with customer and program management team
Ensures delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed
Conduct trade studies, to determine possible system (hardware, software, architecture) improvements
Plan and/or support enhancement projects through requirements definition, implementation, development, operations, performance, testing, cost and schedule, training and support, and/or system disposal
Provide technical oversight of program milestone reviews
Shape and guide the development of technical documentation, including CONOPS, user guides, test plans, and other deliverable items
Provide input to hardware (COTS/GOTS/capacity/etc.) recommendations, including support for Technology Insertion in Government Technical Reference Model (TRM)
Active member in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and program Engineering Review Boards (ERBs); with responsibility to foster active engagement across team members

Required Skills:
U.S. Citizenship required.
Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility (SSBI within the last 5 years)
Expert designer of realistic cyber environments to meet training cyber objectives
5+ years of relevant cyber training experience
10+ years domain experience in IT and Networks
Proven ability to design cyber training events, skilled at decomposing training objectives and MSELs into computer systems and network design features.
Experienced at conducting cyber exercises, working through the planning process and coordinating with end users and event sponsors to provide realistic cyber training environments
Must be able to independently work with end users and customers, inferring cyber environment requirements and resulting design documents and then communicating and leading the buildout of the desired networks.
Willingness to travel to customer sites; approximately 25-50% travel.
Experienced in defensive and offensive cyber Tactics, Techniques and Procedures.
Ability to build and assess network and software systems architectures.
Understanding and appropriate application of network sensors and traffic generation tools as applied toward training cyber environments
Experience supporting DoD cyber training or exercises
Demonstrated experience with cyber, cyber operations and cyber analysis systems
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple teams in a dynamic environment
Experience interfacing directly with customer and management teams; including, conducting briefings and technical meetings for management and customer representatives
Experience working with US CYBERCOM or other DoD cyber training organizations.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Major (Engineering, Computer Science) and 12 years of related work experience.

Desired Skills and Education:
Ten+ years military service within the cyber mission force.
Certified instructor from respective military service.
Ten+ years industry experience training cyber operator’s formal institutional instruction and hands on practical training.
Advanced degree in related discipline is desired.
