SAIC is seeking a Linux Administrator in Bedford, IN

Job Duties:

  • Most of the work involves manipulation of RHEL v7 but some dabbling in Windows VMs run in Virtual Box or VMWare ESXi is occasionally required.

  • Setup file sharing (both server and client) between networks attached storage to multiple other servers (both Windows and Linux) on a domain.

  • Setup network domain accounts and user profiles, some of which require token authentication and joining a Linux OS to a Windows domain.

  • Configure audit logging with Snare Clients.

  • Configure health and status reporting with Nagios Clients.

  • Install and configure several pieces of GOTs software sometimes provided with minimal documentation.

  • Work with network engineers on setting up sever-side network configuration.

  • Provide information to cyber engineers on what can and cannot be locked down based on the work they have done.

  • Will need to be able to take high level directions (i.e. needed technical capabilities / functions) and problem solve down to specific solutions / implementations.

  • Will need to be able to demonstrate and document solutions / implementations such that less experienced engineers and technicians can repeat what has been done.

  • No actual coding is expected at this time beyond possible bash scripting.

  • Must be willing to spend majority of time at Eastgate near-term and later Westgate.

  • May occasionally need to travel to support software installations / upgrades.




  • High School and five (5) years or more related experience.

  • Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for (3) year(s)

  • IN depth knowledge of Linux

  • Virtual Box or VMWare ESXi experience.

  • RHEL v7 experience.

  • Hands on experience with Linux OS to a Windows domain

  • Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management and concepts

  • Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP

  • Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC) will be considered an advantage

  • Strong problem solving and communication skills

  • Secret security clearance required to start
