An opportunity exists for a Radar Software Engineer II/Sr. Software Engineer I within the Missile Defense Radar Software Department in Woburn, Massachusetts to support our X-Band Radar software product line.

The Missile Defense Radar Software Department’s mission is to provide world class Missile Defense and Surveillance Radar Software to be used in radar systems deployed on land and sea. Our software teams employ an AGILE Scrum process to rapidly design, code, and integrate capabilities on a continuous basis into a mature solution for our customers. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a diverse workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages and platforms.

The position requires software development, integration, and testing of real-time radar software. The candidate will be responsible for implementing, debugging and fixing problems within the Radar software applications, as well as supporting integration efforts. Our radar software applications are developed using Ada and C++ programming languages running on a variety of computing platforms running Linux or UNIX operating systems.

The candidate will be expected to be experienced in design and development of software as part of a large application in a higher order language such as Ada, C++ or Java.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

This position can be a Salary Grade G07 or Salary Grade G08 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and requirements for the position.

Required Skills:

  • 2 years of experience in software engineering
  • Experience with C++, Java, or Ada
  • Linux or UNIX experience
  • Existing secret clearance or ability to obtain a clearance with interim within 30 days and full clearance thereafter.
Desired Skills:
  • Real-time software development experience
  • OOD & UML experience
  • Clear Case or equivalent configuration management tool experience
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Software Engineering
  • Experience in an Agile/SCRUM development
  • Software development experience in a DoD environment
  • Development of Graphical user interfaces
  • Strong problem solving ability

Required Education:
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or relevant engineering degree (Master's Degree preferred)
