Summary of Role
Raytheon UK are currently looking for motivated and hardworking individuals to join us in a two year Higher Apprenticeship scheme, covering Electrical and Mechanical aspects of Engineering. As an Apprentice Engineer within Raytheon, you will work alongside engineers from diverse backgrounds covering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical and production engineering.

Main Duties
This position offers a great deal of variety. Throughout the apprenticeship the on-job training and role responsibilities will include the following:

•Work across the business as Mechanical and / or Electrical support to existing product lines or new developments
•Mechanical Assembly, modification and repair of hardware
•Electrical testing and diagnostic fault finding
•Operation of special-to-type and precision test equipment
•Provide written technical reports and complete maintenance records
•Understand quality requirements and proactively report issues/observations
•Opportunity to influence best practice and provide added value
•Ensure compliance with Company Health and Safety Policies and legislation, taking personal responsibility for ensuring safe working practices to minimise risk to self, work colleagues, contractors and customers.
•The role may offer the opportunity to work away from the main facility in Harlow.
The successful applicant will follow a structured career development plan. Part of the individual’s development will include day-release to college to achieve a formal Engineering qualification such as HNC and HND.

Candidate Requirements

•Applicants should be ‘hands-on’ and be practical individuals with an interest in how systems work.
•It is required that applicants will have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade 4 or above which include Maths, English and a Science subject.
•It is expected that applicants will have achieved a minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent in STEM subjects at Grade C or above.
•You will need good general office skills including MS Office (Word, Excel etc.).
•We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about learning and developing a successful career within Engineering.
•You will need to be self-motivated, be a team player and enjoy a challenge.
