Position Title: Associate Designer

Position Description

KBR is seeking a Design Technician – Structural. Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering.



  • Ability to generate finished structural design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD is required.
  • Ability to set up Revit templates and Revit export to dwg files is desirable.
  • Ability to generate finished structural design drawings using MicroStation is a plus
  • Assignments will require conducting plant walk downs and wearing pulp and paper or chemical plant PPE, climbing ladders and stairs.
  • Experience in designing and drawing structural steel and concrete is required.Experience in structural design for heavy industry is desirable.
  • Applicant must be familiar with drawing structural steel and concrete construction plans, elevations, sections and details typical of what is used in heavy industrial construction.
