Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years retail purchasing in consumer electronics, preferably wireless
  • Ability to establish priorities
  • Excellent computer skills, with advanced Excel knowledge
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Understand financial indicators such as gross margin, sell-through and turn
  • Exert professionalism when communicating with the field management and leadership
  • Highly organized, able to multi-task and be extremely flexible in a very dynamic environment
  • Maintains a positive and respectful attitude
  • Must be able to reach all deadlines


Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Selects merchandise for order, places order, and stays involved in inventory distribution
  • Reviews success of previous orders to determine extent to which inventory should be replenished
  • Negotiate product quality, purchase quantity, landed cost, delivery and stock balancing terms
  • Perform continuous competitor and market analysis researching emerging trends consumer electronics accessories
  • Use analytics and sales trends to develop future purchasing plans
  • Understand and use financial indicators such as gross margin, sell-through and turn
  • Qualify and develop new vendors
  • Execute purchase orders
  • Reports to Inventory Purchasing Supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned by the Inventory Purchasing Supervisor

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work in a cubicle and look at a monitor for long periods of time
