Description:The Labs & Technical Services (L&TS) Computer Resources Engineering (CRE) team is seeking a Systems Engineer with experience in deploying Cyber Security tools and processes in a heterogeneous avionics laboratory environment. Successful candidate will be responsible for technical direction of the Risk Managed Framework (RMF) compliance and internal verification activities for F-35 Reprogramming Labs. Candidate will participate in all project phases including proposal development, technical and strategic direction, integration of new technologies, and long-term sustainment with a focus on driving commonality across the enterprise. Candidate must demonstrate experience with processes and documentation required to achieve an Authority to Operate (ATO) under the RMF/JSIG guidelines, and must be familiar with Continuous Monitoring activities. Individual must have experience in system administration activities including configuring, integrating, modifying, upgrading, hardening, and troubleshooting system software and hardware for various operating systems and hardware platforms.
Detailed responsibilities include:
a. Working with CRE Re-programming lab architect to ensure computer and network designs are compliant with cyber security and functional requirements.
b. Ensuring Cyber security Continuous Monitoring activities are completed per approved ConMon plan.
c. Assist with vendor Assessment & Accreditation (A&A) activities as required.
d. Providing expert IT-related integration skills to augment the L&TS system engineering teams during integration, as needed.
e. Must be willing to mentor/train younger system engineers throughout the L&TS team on RMF policies and practices.
Candidates must exhibit excellent problem solving skills, be a team player, possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills, and be able to adjust work schedule periodically to support program activities.
Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a Secret clearance updated within the last 6 years to start.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university.
Security+ CE and/or CISSP certification (CISSP preferred).
Experience in obtaining certifications under Risk Managed Framework (RMF).
System administration experience supporting Linux/Unix operating systems (SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Redhat, or Solaris) and MS Windows (desktop and Server).
Cybersecurity RMF/JSIG experience applying STIGs and system hardening
Patch management tools such as Shavlik or WSUS.
Experience with NetApp NAS or SAN solutions.
Experience with Nessus Security Center, HBSS (HIPS/DLP).
Understanding of networks and switches.
