Description

SAIC is seeking an MRAP Engineering Tech 2 in North Charleston, SC.

 

Job Duties:


  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, drawing specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. 

  • Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment.

  • Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions.

  • Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. 

  • Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data. 

  • Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.). 

  • Installs repairs and troubleshoots electronic components.

  • Performs installation from Drawings, manuals and verbal instructions.

  • Undertakes analyses of data where guidelines are provided.   

Qualifications

 Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED

  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Active DoD clearances accepted.

  • 1 - 3 years of practical experience, to include: laboratory testing, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing, or maintenance.

  • Possesses strong knowledge/experience of hardware, hand tools and power tools, Electronic components, installation repair, troubleshooting.

  • UZ Citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance.

  • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, or formal electronics training from a Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications a PLUS, but not required.
