SAIC is seeking an MRAP Engineering Tech 2 in North Charleston, SC.
Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, drawing specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment.
Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions.
Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data.
Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.).
Installs repairs and troubleshoots electronic components.
Performs installation from Drawings, manuals and verbal instructions.
Undertakes analyses of data where guidelines are provided.
Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED
US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Active DoD clearances accepted.
1 - 3 years of practical experience, to include: laboratory testing, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing, or maintenance.
Possesses strong knowledge/experience of hardware, hand tools and power tools, Electronic components, installation repair, troubleshooting.
UZ Citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance.
Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, or formal electronics training from a Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications a PLUS, but not required.
