In support of the High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) Integrated Technical Services (HITS) task order contract, Team SAIC provides program management and technical support necessary to advance the services, capabilities, infrastructure, and technologies in the HPCMP, Department of Defense (DoD) Supercomputing Resource Centers (DSRC) supercomputing centers. Team SAIC is looking for a Software/Customer Support Service Representative who will assist the user community with the effective and efficient utilization of HPC assets. The successful candidate will work along the side of leading HPC staff and researchers working to solve DoD’s most critical mission challenges.
The successful candidate will perform installation, testing and support for COTS, GOTS, and open source software on high performance computing platforms at multiple locations. The candidate will provide hands-on support to the user community regarding optimal use of DSRC infrastructure and assist users with adapting their codes to new TI platforms. This will include monitoring daily/ monthly/yearly usage trends for assigned software applications to verify the investment in software is justified. Specific daily tasks include;
Installing and supporting user application software
Providing customer support in the use of assigned software
Support user requests for new software
Field requests and enter into tracking
Investigate requests to determine if they will be granted or not.
Help users to self-install if appropriate
Support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and Enterprise Software Configuration Management
Education and Experience
Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree
Mandatory Skills and Abilities
Experience working in complex HPC cluster architectures and storage implementations.
Possess thorough knowledge of HPC job scheduling concepts and applications, especially with scheduling products from Altair (PBSPro).
Experience working knowledge of scientific programming applications in an HPC environment.
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively interact with a highly skilled technical HPC support staff and users, internal staff, and management.
Organizational skills to balance and prioritize work in a dynamic work environment, and persistence to follow-through on tasks in the face of obstacles
Ability to work as part of a multi-faceted team, and leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
A good understanding of user account provisioning is a plus
Experience installing and maintaining COTS/GOTS, and open source software
