The System Validation, Test & Analysis Directorate (SVTAD) organization integrates all aspects of system validation, test, and analysis from initial system architecture, design and development, through system validation. The SVTAD Directorate has overall responsibility for the system integration and test process, test facility management and capital planning, as well as off-site system and flight test conduct, analysis and test problem resolution.
The THAAD System Integration Laboratory (SIL), located in the Lockheed-Martin Space Systems facility in Sunnyvale, CA provides the primary venue for testing THAAD software in support of new software releases and key program events such as flight tests. Raytheon has directly supported the SIL for the last 15 years and is in need of an experienced system integration engineer. Testing at the SIL is a critical step in getting formal approval to field a weapon system build.
Opportunities currently exist for a Systems Engineer to support the Mission Systems and Sensors (MSS) Business Area in Woburn, MA. MSS is an integrated business team at Raytheon’s IDS that focuses on Radar technology. MSS develops Radars, land and sea-based, with systems that are able to detect, identify and track targets and objects at greater ranges, over-the-horizon and in space with greater sensitivity.

This position is in Sunnyvale, CA - duration up to 1 year. A Temporary Domestic Offsite Assignment (TDOA) will be provided to include reimbursement for lodging and meals and incidentals per GSA per diems, shipping of goods, rental car, and home visits for up to 1 year.

Job Description:

Support hardware and software used as critical THAAD components in air and missile defense and situational awareness at the Lockheed-Martin Space Systems in Sunnyvale, CA.
Perform various engineering activities that include test and validation of Software Builds, systems requirements analysis, data analysis, and overall Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) systems installation, integration
Collaborate with team on the Verification and Validation (V&V) effort to compare system performance against the requirements established by the customer
Plan and perform V&V assignments which include collaborating with others in determining method of verification, generating verification procedures, and documenting results in a V&V report
Work independently with general guidance provided by the Task Lead on general objectives and details of unusual situations and /or requirements
Travel to support program requirements as required

Note: The position can be an G09 or G10 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering role conducting analysis and system integration and testing in a lab environment
Experience with System Integration and/or System Test
Experience with system V&V activities for medium to large scale systems using state-of-the-art technology
Active Secret security clearance

Desired Skills:
Experience with software development in C++, Perl, Clearcase/Clearquest/TestRT
Experience developing Matlab tools for data analysis
Experience with THAAD Weapon System analysis, performance and function
Experience with HWIL integration and test
Familiarity with simulated target construction
Familiarity with SIL Radar support including Software Build installation, execution of Digisim, RCS mapping, and general maintenance
Radar data analysis, particularly for AN/TPY-2
Support system issue resolution of the THAAD components
Maintain the SIL infrastructure software
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, customer focused, collaboration and influential skills, written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Master's degree in Engineering
