The director, Strategic Systems Advanced Programs is responsible for managing cost, schedule and technical performance of the advanced technology development programs. In addition, this role must continue to support customer needs and improve customer intimacy. The role is responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing strategy plan to continue to grow the programs
  • Capturing new business
  • Communicating program status and forecasts with the customer.
  • Managing development and builds from receipt of order to customer delivery.
  • Organizing and overseeing all functional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient execution.
  • Developing financial plans to include the AOP
  • Guiding CRAD investments into next generation weather systems.
  • Coordinating customer interactions with Business Development to build advocacy for the Raytheon strategic systems advanced product line.
  • Participating in capture efforts to grow the business.
  • Managing a matrix team.
Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 14 years of experience in engineering, technical field or program/project management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels, including a matrixed environment
  • Ability to influence and motivate team members and peers
  • Ability to partner in matrixed organizations to ensure successful program execution
  • Ability to move between strategic and tactical issues quickly
  • Ability to lead strategic and tactical initiatives as well as matrixed teams and staff
  • Proven demonstration of leadership competencies including influential communications, strategic thinking, cultivating innovation, collaboration, developing talent, customer focus, and driving results
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Project management skills
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
  • Ability to obtain Program Management certification level 3 within one year
  • Experience with Raytheon Gate approval process
  • Experience working directly with customers, especially government customers

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical field.

Desired Educations: Master’s degree in an engineering or technical field.
