GDIT is seeking a Security Assistant in support of the Naval Medical Research Unit in San Antonio, Texas (NAMRU-SA). The Security Assistant is responsible for assisting with many components of the personal and information security programs at NAMRU-SA. Specific responsibilities include:


    1. Prepares, proofreads, and edits official security SOPs related to research under contract, instructions, and correspondences.
    2. Assists in receipt of security documents.
    3. Assists in performing routine and automated checks and specialized data entry tasks on microcomputers that involve recurring and non-recurring technical terminology related to background investigations.
    4. Ensures all documents required for suitability processing are included, completed, and ready for Entry on Duty (EOD).
    5. Identifies issues on security forms and obtain any missing information from applicant.
    6. Assists in conducting self-inspections.
    7. Provides customer service to internal and external customers via email and phone.
    8. Assists in creating security policies, procedures, and practices.
    9. Assists in preparing and delivering security training, briefings, and debriefings.
    10. Assists in maintaining security documentation/files.
    11. Assists in auditing classified inventory and files.
    12. Assisting in auditing the Key and Lock program.
    13. Assist in properly handling and protecting sensitive data, including PII.
    14. Escort people without appropriate clearance.



Requires at least 3 years experience of Federal Government or DoD security office support.
Experience working with JPAS required.
