Description:We are seeking an Experimental Test Pilot (XP) to support CH-53K development flight test programs, production support, aircraft deliveries and customer training. This individual will be responsible to the Developmental Flight Center (DFC) Chief Pilot for the oversight of assigned aircraft programs, and the associated flight operations to ensure developmental test operations are conducted and in compliance with Sikorsky procedures, product specifications and federal regulations. Operates CH-53K and other models of test aircraft during engineering flight tests, production acceptance, and flight test support through specifically prescribed tests and maneuvers. This individual will assist the engineering team in developing tests, test plans and maneuvers, with oversight from the Chief Program Pilot and DFC Chief Pilot.
This position is located at Sikorsky Aircraft's CH-53K test location at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, MD. Upon completion of the Patuxent River assignment, this position will transfer back to the Development Flight Center in Jupiter, FL.
Relocation may be available.
Requires a B.S. or B.A. degree in engineering, physical science or a related technical field. Have at least 7 to 10 years’ experience in the engineering flight test field, which may include acquisition experience.
Must have a minimum of 2,500 hours pilot time (at least 1,000 as pilot in command). Must hold current FAA Commercial Pilot's License with Rotorcraft Rating and a Helicopter Instrument Rating. Must hold current FAA Class II physical qualification. Must be a graduate of a military test pilot school (TPS / NTPS), or be able to obtain a waiver. Maintenance test pilot experience desirable.
FAA Instructor Pilot Rating in Rotorcraft is desired. Airline Transport Rating is desired. Experience in Sikorsky military and commercial aircraft desirable.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
BS or BA degree required. Degree in Engineering or a physical science desired.
