SAIC is currently in need for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Space Systems Mission Areas in the Space Protection area. This includes space mission protection architectures, strategies, and program execution. The systems engineer will be responsible for helping develop initial systems architecture, developing requirements for payload/sensor, and leading the design and build efforts.
The systems engineer needs to possess the following systems engineering work attributes:
10+ years of relevant engineering experience in system level design and architecture for select payloads and sensors
Strong experience in space development system life cycle events
Must have full experience in decomposing capabilities into core set of system functionality needed to support identified capabilities
Must have experience in requirements development at the payload/sensor level and performing the necessary allocation to the lower subsystems/products
Must have an understanding of spacecraft integration, interface/control electronics, control system design, line of sight; detailed knowledge of space payloads and missions to understand how changes in one part of a system impact the rest of the payload/sensor/spacecraft; and system and subsystem activation, testing, and troubleshooting experience.
Experience leading technical teams of systems engineers, hardware engineers, and analysts
Active DoD SSBI and/or TS/SCI security clearance
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
